Beta Club

Northside High School is proud to be a local chapter of the National Beta Club, which is a leadership organization focused on high academic achievement & service learning leadership. Beta Club's mission is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service, & leadership among secondary school students.

 

Chess Club

Sponsor: Mr. Strecker

We are playing online chess using the "Social Chess" app and this is open to all students.

 

 

DECA: An Association of Marketing Students

Sponsor: Mrs. McKee and Mrs. Lineberry

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.

 

E-Sports

The NHS E-Sports team is a new VSHL sponsored sports team starting up here at Northside High School! 

 

French Club

Sponsor: Mme. Decrozant

French Club is open to any student interested in learning about the cultures of the Francophone world! We watch movies, have potluck meals, listen to music, do crafts and learn about France and other French-speaking countries/regions around the globe. You do not have to take French to join! Bienvenue!

 

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)

Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) inspires and prepares students to become community-minded business leaders in a global society through relevant career preparation and leadership experiences. 

 

German Club

Honorable Vikings

Sponsor: Mrs. Edmonds & Mr. Swanson

The purpose of the Honorable Vikings program is to recognize students for random acts of kindness observed at school or in our community. Teachers submit nominations and students are recognized on the announcements.

PTSO (Parent-Teacher-Student Organization)

Sponsor: Missy Light

The NHS PTSO exists to promote an enriched educational environment by fostering a cooperative and beneficial relationship among Northside High School students, parents, faculty and staff. The PTSO supports and promotes activities for teachers, students and parents.

 

Prevention Club

Sponsor: Mrs. Edmonds

The Prevention Club is a group of students focused on prevention, who will assist in understanding and identifying issues that will help young people stay free of violence, alcohol, and drugs. The Prevention Club wants students who have ideas and concerns about prevention issues affecting youth in our school and surrounding community such as violence, alcohol and other drugs, bullying, traffic safety, etc. Prevention Club sponsors activities such as Red Ribbon Week. It is expected that Prevention Club members will learn and develop confidence in being a leader and assuming leadership responsibilities. Displaying good character is also important.

 

Scholastic Bowl

Sponsor: Mrs. Puriefoy

Scholastic Bowl is a competitive academic club. In this activity, we field teams that compete against other schools in head-to-head matches involving answering questions in a variety of areas. Some of these areas include science, mathematics, literature, art, history, geography, government, mythology, etc.

 

Spanish Club

Sponsor: Ms. Waller

The Spanish Club is comprised of students who are taking Spanish levels 1-5/AP at the high school level. Some of our annual activities include: holiday service projects, dinner meetings at local restaurants, and holiday celebrations from the Spanish-speaking countries. Club meeting times vary, depending on the activity.

 

Theater

Theater performs multiple shows in a year.

 

Tri_M Music Honor Society

Sponsor: Mrs. Galyen

A Tri-M Music Honor Society opens up a world of opportunities for students who have already shown themselves to be academically capable and musically gifted. Through performance and community service, they’ll develop confidence, creativity, critical thinking, compassion, and a host of other leadership skills sure to serve them well in school and beyond.
